Community Guidelines

Last Updated: April 5, 2026

McCoy is a professional community for job seekers and employers. These Community Guidelines apply to all user-generated content and conduct on any surface of the McCoy platform, including: McCoy Reels, Targeted Reels, custom content and custom messages, profile information, feed posts, comments and replies, chat messages, job application materials, and any other content submitted through the iOS app, Android app, or the McCoy web app at mccoy.io. In short: if you created it or sent it on McCoy, these guidelines apply to it.

By using McCoy, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal or account suspension.

PROHIBITED CONTENT AND CONDUCT

1. Copyright Infringement

Do not post content you do not have the right to share, including copyrighted music, video clips, or images owned by others. If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without permission, see our DMCA policy at mccoy.io/dmca.

2. Explicit or Sexual Content

McCoy is a professional platform. Sexually explicit, obscene, or inappropriately graphic content is not permitted.

3. Malware and Malicious Content

Do not upload files containing viruses, malware, or malicious code. Do not post links designed to deceive or harm others.

4. Hate Speech and Harassment

Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or other protected characteristics is prohibited. Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse of other users is not tolerated.

5. Fraud and Misrepresentation

Do not misrepresent your identity, credentials, work experience, or skills. Do not impersonate another person or organization.

6. Third-Party Privacy

Do not share another person's private information — including contact details, personal photos, or sensitive data — without their consent.

7. Sensitive Personal Information

Do not share your own or anyone else's sensitive personal information through McCoy, including Social Security numbers, government-issued ID numbers, passport numbers, bank account or payment card numbers, or similar financial or identity credentials. McCoy is not a secure channel for transmitting this type of data, and doing so puts you and others at risk. If you are asked to provide sensitive personal information by another user claiming to represent an employer or McCoy, do not comply — report it immediately using the in-app Report feature or by contacting contact@mccoy.io.

8. Impersonation of McCoy Staff

Do not impersonate McCoy employees, support staff, moderators, or any other representative of Credible Inc. d/b/a McCoy. McCoy staff will never ask you for payment, your password, or sensitive personal information through the app, chat, or any unsolicited message. If you receive a message from someone claiming to be from McCoy and asking for any of these, report it immediately.

9. Spam and Mass Messaging

Do not send unsolicited bulk or repetitive messages to other users — whether through chat, custom messages, or any other messaging feature. This includes sending the same or substantially similar message to multiple users, automated or scripted outreach, and any form of commercial solicitation not directly related to a specific job opportunity on the platform. Repeated unwanted contact with a specific user after they have not responded also constitutes harassment and is prohibited.

10. Solicitation for Money or Payment

Do not solicit or accept payment from other users through McCoy. This includes charging candidates a fee to apply to or access a job opportunity, requiring payment as a condition of consideration for a role, or offering paid "coaching," "placement," or "access" services through the platform. Legitimate employers do not charge candidates to apply. Any user found soliciting payment from candidates will be permanently removed from the platform and may be reported to relevant authorities.

11. Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)

Any content that sexualizes minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A). Zero tolerance. CSAM content and associated account data will be retained until the NCMEC report has been filed, then immediately deleted.

HOW TO REPORT

If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the in-app Report feature on the relevant content, or contact us at contact@mccoy.io. We review all reports and take action where appropriate.

ENFORCEMENT

Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may: remove the content, issue a warning, temporarily suspend the account, or permanently terminate the account. We reserve the right to take action in our sole discretion.

APPEALS

If you believe a content removal or account action was made in error, you may appeal by contacting us at contact@mccoy.io with the subject line "Appeal" and a description of the content or action in question. We will review your appeal and respond within 14 days. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement of content or account access.
